How to Install Your Expandable Tonneau Cover Rack

1. First step is removing the factory rail covers on your truck using needle nose pliers.

a. Start from the end of the truck on one rail and reach under the rail with the needle nose pliers.
b. Pinch the inner tabs located under the inner lip of the box sides and lift the covers.
c. If you need to, use a thin pry bar between box and rail cover to unfasten the outer tabs.
d. Lift off the rail.
e. Clean down the surface.

2. Second step is mount the center strut bracket.

a. Measure the width of the box directly behind the cab.
b. Put the steel bracket on the inside of the box and the aluminum bracket clipped to the outside.
c. Bolt the brackets on the truck with a 7/16th wrench or socket.
d. This is how it looks installed.

3. Third step is to install the bolts and toggle nuts through the gear box slots.

a. Your components are the toggle nut, steel washer, plastic grummet and bolt.
b. Your steel washer goes on to the bolt first.
c. The plastic grommet goes on next. Twist the plastic plug off the top.
d. The washer fits in the plastic grommet.
e. Place the bolt through the tonneau cover and attached the toggle on end of the bolt, once its placed through the cover.
f. Make sure the opening of the “V” on the toggle is placed towards the tonneau cover.
g. Repeat all the steps in this section for each gear box slots.

4. Fourth step is mounting your tonneau cover on the truck.

a. Place the tonneau on the truck. It’s recommended you get some help to lift the lid into place and holding it.
b. Slip the toggles into the slots of the truck’s box. Make sure you do all of them.
c. Push the toggles into the slots.
d. Snug up the toggle bolts with a 5/16 allen wrench. Do not tighten all the way.

5. Fifth step is to mount the receiver bracket.

a. Snap it to the bracket on the inside of the box.
b. You can adjust the cylinder.
c. Snap the receiver bracket to the cylinder bracket located on the lid.
d. Repeat steps 4a – 5c for the other lid.

6. Sixth step secure the tonneau cover lid.

a. Align the lid front to back and side to side.
b. Tighten the toggle bolts and snap on the bolt caps.
c. Install the washer and locknut to threaded shafts located under the inner box rail and tighten.
d. Put the washer on first then your nut.
e. Then take a 7/16 deep well socket to tighten them all up.
f. Your installation is complete and your tonneau cover rack is ready to use.
